About Me
Hi, my name is Bexi Wood and I am the creator of BexiWood Fitness.
I am a professionally trained dancer, qualified dance teacher, Strength and Conditioning coach and Personal Trainer.
Here is a bit of information about me, why I decided to become a personal trainer, and why I decided to set up my own business.
I have danced since I was young and always knew that I wanted to perform in the industry. When I was 16 I gained a scholarship to the prestigious SLP College in Leeds where I recieved professional training for 3 years. College was difficult in many ways: I was a 16 year old away from home for the first time, I had my fair share of injuries over the years, and I was regularly told I needed to lose weight to get a job!
I found my love for fitness during my second year of college and after graduating in July 2018, I went on to get my personal training qualification at the internationally recognised YMCA Fit in London. After 6 weeks of intensive training I became a qualified personal trainer! To expand my knowledge I also recently I became a level 4 stength and conditiong coach from S&C Education.
The idea of BexiWood Fitness came about when having a conversation with a family relative. My 49 year old step mum wanted to lose weight and had a gym membership but firstly didn't know what to do in a gym that would benefit her, but also felt intimidated by the other people around her, and felt judged.
So I decided there was a market for this problem, as I know a lot of people felt the same way as her, and took the step to set up my own business.
I hope you enjoyed learning a bit about me, and I'm so happy to be running BexiWood Fitness to help people achieve their fitness goals.
